Our 7-Application Lawn Treatment Program

1. Early Spring – Fertilizer with Crabgrass Prevention

Once soil temperatures have warmed to near 55 degrees, we apply a granular fertilizer with crabgrass pre-emergent to give your turf a boost to “wake up” after a long winter and stop crabgrass in its tracks to prevent it from spreading throughout your yard. (This pairs well immediately following our spring clean up, dethatching, and aeration.)

2. Mid-Late Spring – Broadleaf Weed Control

As soil temperatures continue to rise and the grass begins to grow, seeds from broadleaf weeds such as dandelions are picked up in the warm breeze, they land in your turf and germinate. We apply a liquid broadleaf control application to eradicate these weeds allowing your grass to take their place.

3. Early Summer (June) – Fertilizer

Similar to a 3PM break to keep yourself going through the work day, it is beneficial for your turf to receive a mid-summer boost with a granular fertilizer application that provides nitrogen to keep your lawn strong through the upcoming hot summer months.

4. Summer (Early July) – Yard Insect Control

This granular application helps control root-feeding insects such as Northern and Southern masked chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, Japanese beetles, annual bluegrass weevil, Black Turfgrass Ataenius, Crane flies and Mole crickets, and contains a slow-release fertilizer to enhance grass growth.

5. Summer – (Late July) Fertilizer

Our 5th application is a fertilizer that contains slow-release nitrogren, allowing your grass to increase its robustness as we head into the hottest months of the year.

6. Late Summer/Early Fall – Broadleaf Weed Control

As the air temperatures cool slightly, we do one final liquid weed control application to get rid of any pesky weeds that sprouted in your lawn during the summer.

7. Fall – Winterizing Fertilizer

Winter is drawing near and it is time to prepare your turf for the cold months ahead. This granular fertilizer application will help promote disease resistance and strong root growth, this application also encourages a quicker “green up” next spring.
